New nutrition rules in nurseries – what will change in 2027?

The amendment to the Act on Care for Children Under 3 Years of Age brings changes regarding meals in nurseries and kids’ clubs. Although part of the reform begins in January, the nutrition requirements are scheduled to take effect from September 1, 2027. This is time worth using to prepare the facility and collaborate with a catering provider.
Menus tailored to the youngest children
New regulations clarify the principles of nutrition consistent with the needs of individual age groups and standards developed by NIZP PZH–PIB. Detailed requirements for products used in collective catering will be specified in a regulation of the Minister of Health.
Water and individual needs
The changes include unlimited access to drinking water. Facilities are also to accommodate, as far as possible, the needs of children requiring the elimination of specific ingredients for health reasons. At Menu Catering, we will prepare each individual diet in accordance with the provided dietary recommendations and medical guidelines. We will take the utmost care in selecting ingredients, appropriate substitutes, and meal preparation, taking into account the required dietary exclusions. Cooperation with parents and management will allow us to adjust the menu to the child’s needs, ensuring safety, nutritional value, and taste.
How to prepare a nursery?
At Menu Catering, we will comprehensively implement all new requirements regarding the meals prepared and delivered by us, from menus and ingredient selection to proper documentation. We will support management in preparing the facility for changes, removing the burden of independently analyzing catering-related requirements. Our priority will be compliance with applicable law and the well-being of children — their safety, nutritional needs, and the joy of eating.
